CHRISTMAS FOOD DISTRIBUTION ATTENDED BY LEGISLATOR
By Calvin Grover
On December 19, 2016, Open Gate held its Christmas annual food distribution in Dinuba. We had an astonishing crowd of over 280 fami- lies served in one day with over 340 bags of food distributed. We had a lot of volunteers from the Dinuba First Baptist Church, schools, Open Gate’s board
members, and many others.
We were pleased to have as our guest Mr. Devon Mathis, State Assembly- man, with his son. They are pictured here with Executive Director Ray Ander- son.
We had many dona- tions from schools, churches, individu- als, and local busi- nesses. According to population, for Dinuba we served 4.4% of the commu- nity; Orosi 6.0%; and Cutler 14.4%, all who went away with food to fill and satisfy them.
Matthew 25:34-35 & 40 ESV) “Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a
stranger and you welcomed me... And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” With your contribu- tions we will be able to continue to keep doing this, not just for more annual Christmas food basket give aways, but our weekly food give away as well, for years to come.
On behalf of Open Gate Minis- tries, Thank you for your contribu- tions.
